This self-assessment tool was originally developed and tested by the CARE4DEM project consortium. It is aimed at experienced informal caregivers and professionals who want to become facilitators of online mutual support groups for informal carers of people with dementia.
Building on research and expertise, the project consortium has defined a ‘CARE4DEM facilitators’ Competence Profile’, gathering the competencies that are desirable in order to facilitate an online support group for informal carers of people with dementia. This survey is just a tool helping you to start exploring these competencies.
The purpose of this self-assessment tool is to help you gain a better understanding of your personal competencies in relation to the facilitation of a mutual support group: you may already have some key competencies without even realizing it; you may need to reinforce some other competencies. The results will be used to design your own learning path while attending CARE4DEM training, focusing on the competencies you need to develop the most.
The tool contains 25 items, asking you to reflect on a set of competencies contained in the “CARE4DEM facilitator’s Competence Profile” so as to evaluate to what extent you master these key competencies.
You will read a list of statements, please self-assess your competencies by choosing a score from 1 to 5, where 1 means that you are closer to the statement on the left and 5 means you are closer to the statement on the right.
The minimum time to fill the assessment tool is 20 minutes.
Please answer as honestly as possible, in order to ensure that the tool provides you with the most relevant results.
